Audio Conferencing:
This feature provides high quality audio conferencing which allows multiple users, in a room, to converse with each other in Many-to-Many configuration. Devices can be any, from normal speakers and microphones to YAP phones or any USB plug/play sound device. A3Connect uses a highly optimized audio compression codec, which considerably reduces bandwidth requirements.
Video Conferencing:
Imagine a corporate scenario, where people from different locations wish to conduct a business meeting but have access only to PSTN phones and one soon realizes the inadequacies in conducting an effective business meeting compared to one would have had all participants were physically there in one room. A3Connect does the next best thing to physical room by creating Virtual rooms where people from any where can join in the meeting electronically from the comfort of their work places, can converse with each other, see each other, share power point presentations, share documents during the meeting, have access to white board facility to aid the presenter to clarify any doubts the participants may have.
Video conferencing feature permits exchange of Video and Audio between the participants in One-to-Many configuration. Video Images require large bandwidth connection for online transmission and in a multi-party conferencing on Non-VPN connections, the bandwidth requirements has exponential relationship with number of participants taking part in the conference.
A3Connect has innovative concepts to conserve bandwidth without impacting the effectiveness of business meetings. In A3Connect all participants have three video images on his/her screen namely that of the Presenter, his own (local) video and an additional video, of any other participant of his choice. This results in:
a) Focused business meetings where emphasis is on the presenter. The privelege of Presenter can be passed to any participant in the meeting, as may be required, through token passing technique.
b) The participants, by virtue of additional video facility, has face-to-face meeting with any other participant in the meeting.
c) You get good size videos in a desktop environment(instead of thumb size videos)
d) These innovative & unique features, coupled with bandwidth efficient MPEG-4 video Codecs, allows multipoint conferencing on 128 KBPS full duplex channel or a 512 kbps ADSL Internet connection.
Meeting Room:
This is the base functionality in the A3Connect system. The system truly simulates Physical Room concept whereby the participants just enter into designated rooms (Access to Rooms is protected through user names and passwords) like the way they will do in physical rooms. This is done from work places thru' Desktops. In a given room, people can be connected by any means that are available to participants at that particular point of time. Rooms can be created and deleted by authorized users. Rooms also have access control and logging capabilities.
PSTN Gateway:
One of the very powerful features in A3Connect is to allow users to call another user from a computer to a landline or a mobile phone. In case participants desire to interact with someone who does not have A3Connect or traveling but he has Mobile, one can just dial his mobile number, invite him to this room and then start the conference.
This service, however, will be available only to users where regulations allow bridging of IP Calls with PSTN Network.
Chat/IM:
In each room there is also a chat channel that allows for Non-Intrusive collaboration among the participants. This channel is available to everyone in the meeting room using the A3Connect Client.
Linked PowerPoint:
PowerPoint presentations have become part and parcel of any Business meeting. A3Connect provides Power point presentation sharing feature, which allows a participant to start a presentation. All other participants in the room get the presentation along with the Video image & Audio of the Presenter. Presenter can move the slides forward or backward, close the presentation and same will get replicated on other participant screens. Presenters can be changed through concept of "Token Passing". Recipients can increase presentation size, if they so wish.
Document Sharing:
A3Connect allows for sharing of document as well. File sharing is handled by uploading a document to a meeting; the document then becomes part of the meeting and anyone can download and use it. This feature is particularly useful in sending large files to participants in Advance so as to make business meeting more effective. The documents, meeting proceedings can be left in the room so that the participants can view them offline.
